Trivandrum, July 9th 2009:  Toonz Academy, one of South Asia’s leading 3D and 2D animation training facilities has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an affiliation with the prestigious Anna University, Coimbatore for its various animation courses. Toonz Academy is the training division of the award winning Toonz Animation Studios, Technopark, Kerala.

Under the MOU, Toonz Academy can offer Anna University approved and endorsed Certificate, Undergraduate, Graduate and/or Post Graduate Program(s) in Animation and Digital Technology at Centres run by Toonz or through other Toonz/University affiliate centres across India and abroad. The MOU also entitles setting up of an Animation Centre of Excellence (ACE) by Toonz in the jurisdiction of the University. It has also been agreed upon to introduce animation and/or digital technology as electives for the BE/B.Tech courses currently conducted by the University and moving ahead explore possibilities of setting up a world class Film and Media School in the jurisdiction of the University.

About Toonz Academy

Toonz Academy is the training division of the award winning animation studio, Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd. The academy was established in the year 2002 and is a fully owned subsidiary of Toonz Entertainment Pte Ltd Singapore, the parent company of the Toonz Group. About Anna University, Coimbatore

Anna University was established as a Unitary type of University at Chennai (formerly, Madras) in the year 1978.  In the year 2002, Anna University was converted into an affiliated type of University wherein all the Government, Government aided and Self-financing Engineering Colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu numbering around 102 are affiliated to it. For administrative convenience, Anna University was divided into four separate Universities namely, Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichirapalli and Anna University Tirunelveli.

The Government of Tamilnadu established the Anna University Coimbatore on 01-02-2007.
