‘Toonz Academy appoints Filipino animation expert as its new Dean’

Trivandrum, January 07th 2009:  Toonz Academy, the animation training division of Technopark based animation major; Toonz Animation India Pvt Ltd has appointed       Mr. Tranquilino Gernale Jr, as the new dean of the Academy.

Gernale has over 22 years of experience in the animation industry spanning Philippines Thailand, Indonesia and India. He has been involved on a variety of cartoon shows that embraced realistic and golden age style of animation including the likes of Winnie the Pooh, 101 Dalmatians, Chuckle Wood Cutters, Angelina, Little Amadeus, Power Puff Girls, Little Robin Hood, The Police Academy, and Tom &Jerry. He has worked with many major studios like Peg animation studio, Colour Chips Inc, Dataquest, Pentamedia, Asiana Wang Animation studio, Toon City Manila etc.

“We are happy to welcome Mr. Gernale on board. With his rich production experience garnered through projects of international standards, I am sure he will be able to impart the quality training standards that we aim to provide” quipped Mr. Ramaprasad, ED of Toonz Academy.

Toonz Academy has recently opened its new centre in Calicut which is its second centre in Kerala apart from the centre in Trivandrum near Technopark. The Academy is now offering six months internship opportunities at the Toonz Animation Studio for all its one year animation courses.
